Congratulations

Congratulations to Amy Whitehead who is runner up for the 2009 MacDiarmid Young Scientist of the Year for her work on conservation of the threatened blue duck or whio. Amy is a student at University of Canterbury and has been working on identification of habitats most suited to whio. The aims of her study have been to ascertain the best sites for release of blue ducks raised in captivity and also sites where control of predators is best targeted.
