A highlight of the conference will be the Limits Workshop “Setting the New Limits” – respecting community expectations.  This workshop is the second of two on a similar theme, the first to be held at the Hydrological Sciences Conference in Nelson a week earlier on 29 November.  Themes will be carried over.  These are a well timed opportunity for the freshwater science community of New Zealand to focus our collective attention upon one of our great water management challenges for the coming years.  How does setting limits to support community expectations change the way we do our science? The workshops will offer participants the opportunity to do some thinking together, hearing from peers involved in change at the regional and national level, about how we might find ourselves doing our science differently and relating differently with others, when the community in its widest sense is fully part of, and not apart from, the processes of water management.  In addition, there will also be a Waimaori workshop, plus a diverse range of contributed papers. We look forward to seeing you in Dunedin.
