Final release of the Land and Water Forum report and feedback from meetings
Thank you for participating in the discussions of its report that the Land and Water Forum held round the country at the end of last year and the beginning of this. You will remember that I promised at those meetings that the notes we took would be made available on the Forum’s website. We have been posting them as they were written up, and I’m glad to say that they are now all available. The link to them is http://www.landandwater.org.nz/index_files/meetings.htm.
I also promised that we would let you know what the Forum told Ministers at the end the engagement process. We have recently reported to the Minister for the Environment and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry on the conversations we had in the eighteen regions we visited and our reflections on what we were told. We also offered some thoughts on implementation of the Forum’s report, and on collaborative processes. These documents can be found at http://www.landandwater.org.nz/index_files/releases.htm.
Thank you again for coming to talk to us. All of us who attended the meetings really enjoyed them and came away better informed. In total we spoke to more than 1,200 people and we are extremely grateful to all of you for contributing your time and your knowledge.
