The role of Scientific Officer – Freshwater Biology is part of our wider
Technical Services team and is responsible for supporting the Council’s
water quality management functions, particularly associated with freshwater
biology. The duties are varied and include input into resource consents
investigation, compliance and state of the environment monitoring, and
regional plan implementation and research.

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in a scientific
or environmental management discipline; a specialization in freshwater
biology will be essential. You will ideally have proven experience. Strong
written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to
deliver projects on time and within budget.
