Obituary - Jim Bannon

One of our NZFSS members, Jim Bannon, died suddenly but peacefully at Waikato Hospital on September 23, 2009 aged 61 years. Jim was a student and a dedicated member of the University of Waikato research group for his M Sc and his Ph D study. His Ph D work involved measuring the influence of temperature and hypoxia on fish swimming ability. After his graduation, he took up a career in teaching short courses to MAF Biosecurity officers. Jim is remembered for his larger than life character and generosity which touched many people. We’ll miss his smiling face and eternally positive attitude.
