2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
We are seeking an aquatic ecologist/limnologist to research successional processes in the ecosystems of new lakes. The specific study area of the position is flexible and would suit either a biological or chemical-oriented scientist seeking to develop a research record in the aquatic sciences.
This research-only position provides opportunities and encourages independently-led research, grant applications, publication, postgraduate supervision and conference attendance. Based in Perth, one of the world’s most liveable cities with a comfortable climate, and safe and clean environment, the Mine Water and Environment Research Centre (MiWER) in the School of Natural Sciences is an internationally recognised research leader in the area of research for lakes created and affected by mining activities.
Facilities include two full-equipped laboratories for ecology and chemistry experimentation at microcosm and mesocosm experimental scales and state-of-the-art sampling and monitoring equipment including access to boats and 4x4 vehicles for field work. Our research encompasses both the applied and theoretical aspects of lake ecosystem development, from phytoplankton and zooplankton communities, to macroinvertebrates and fishes.

Benefits & Remuneration
This 2 year full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $70,015 to $78,011 plus 9% University superannuation contribution.
