RSNZ - MfE Consultation on Environmental Reporting - invitation to comment by 12 Sep
To all Constituent Organisations of the Royal Society of New Zealand.
Please find below details of a submission under development to which you and your organisation are invited to contribute.
The Ministry for the Environment has released their discussion document entitled “Measuring Up: Environmental Reporting”. This documents and questions are available to download at MfE_measuring-up-environmental-reporting.pdf and MfE_measuring-up-consultation-questions.pdf, you can find more information on their process described at: http://www.mfe.govt.nz/publications/ser/measuring-up-environmental-reporting/index.html
Given the Society’s recent work on ecosystem services, we are in a good position to make a submission response on this topic.
David Hamilton has prepared this draft response and invites members to submit their feedback.
Submissions are due on the 18th of October, so at this stage, I’m keen to hear from you about what areas the Society’s submission should cover, which experts we should consult with, and what the key points of a submission might be. Once I have more of a picture of what a potential submission might look like, I’ll be more able to consult widely about putting the detailed submission together. Could I ask for your thoughts at this stage by Monday week (12th of September)?
All responses to Dr Jez Weston firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 12th September.
