The Department of Conservation is seeking a highly motivated person to fill the role of Wetland Project Officer within the Freshwater Section of the Science and Technical Group. The Wetland Project Officer will provide technical support to the Arawai Kakariki wetland restoration programme, a national programme that aims to protect and restore three of New Zealand’s foremost wetland/freshwater sites.
The Wetland Project Officer is an exciting role that will provide leadership in science communication for the Arawai Kakariki programme. They will also be responsible for coordinating monitoring data collection across the three project sites, assist the management of freshwater science contracts, and participate in field work in wetland ecosystems.
