And the winner is….
The Awards Committee had a very tough job of judging this year’s NZFSS medal award as the calibre of all nominees was, without exception, outstanding.
The Awards Committee are delighted to award the 2020 NZFSS medal to Associate Professor Kevin Collier for his outstanding contribution to freshwater science, management, and conservation.
Kevin has authored many influential papers and several books, working across key freshwater management and science institutions. More recently Kevin has played a key role in sharing his immense knowledge through student supervision and teaching, while continuing his research focus on freshwater ecosystems and species (including large rivers, shallow lakes, and freshwater mussels).
Congratulations to Kevin, and we look forward to his award presentation at the NZFSS / INTECOL 2021 conference.
