Support for indigenous student attendance at Freshwater Sciences Conference - Instars Fellowships
An exciting opportunity is available to support Indigenous student attendance at the Freshwater Sciences conference (Brisbane, 3-7 June) via Instars Fellowships.
Instars is an initiative of the Society for Freshwater Science to broaden participation and leadership in freshwater science. For over 10 years, Instars has been funding undergraduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to attend annual meetings. This year, Instars is generously offering scholarships to Indigenous students from Australia, New Zealand or Pacific Islands to attend the joint Freshwater Sciences conference in Brisbane. The scholarship will cover the full cost of conference registration as well as 6 nights’ accommodation for successful applicants. Additionally, students will be supported by Instars Mentors and other Indigenous scholars attending the conference.
Please see (and share!) this information on the Instars Fellowships and Mentorships. Fellowship applications are due by 1 March 2023. Note also that conference abstract submission is due on 3 Feb 2023 (this Friday!) and while presenting at the conference is not a prerequisite for Instars Fellowships, it is encouraged.
